Filter the noise out of Knowledge Signals
Peak SNR, is for Peak Signal to Noise Ratio. To be read as: Peak SNR. Traditionally the name signal has been associated with transmitting some information through electronic means. Morse code, or telegraph of the old days was the first wide spread ‘signalling’ mechanism. Operators would sometimes commit an error (Noise) mistyping the code. And the receiving operator was still able to decode the message due to inherent resilience built in the code. This was then….. But today, the world is awash with Noise. Our news, feeds, Youtube and Facebook continuously blare at us for attention. Noise is what intentionally (or unintentionally) enters into the information.
Signal is everything in the world that has meaningful information. Noise is everything that impedes our understanding of the signal. And at Peak SNR we want to maximize the ratio of Signal to Noise.
